  Protecting vehicle against theft should be a priority to every car owner. Vehicles are locked and porous without conscious efforts for further fortification. From towing & loading, hot wiring electrical manipulation; to manual key picking, on-board diagnostics (OBD) key cloning and relay attack (the latest one) vehicles appear to be tilting towards less security each day. Criminals apparently seem to be ahead of many vehicle security controls. With no sense of indictment, vehicle manufacturers are conscious of this fact. However, there is a need for a more kind of defense-in-depth approach to securing vehicles against theft and saving owners from the trauma of losing these costly assets. Vehicles are pricey assets which in most situations take a lot of planning to acquire. It makes sense to ensure it is protected against theft and other threats. Threats against vehicles are as old as the automobile industry itself. Of all these threats; theft appears to be common and most worrisome. Vehicles are parked at owners’ risk is a popular disclaimer signage (that is, caution) used by facility owners to absolve themselves from direct and vicarious liability over threats against vehicles. Within our local communities, urban cities and trans-border areas tales abound about vehicle theft using various means by criminal elements. The annual value of stolen vehicles across countries and regions varies depending on factors such as vehicle technology, location, type of vehicles, trends in vehicle preference, socio-economic issues, effectiveness of law enforcement efforts and awareness of vehicle owners. Furthermore, the global value of stolen vehicles is estimated to be in billions of dollars annually. In the United States in the year 2020, over 810, 000 vehicles were reported stolen. This is up from above 700, 000 vehicles reported in 2019. The National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) reported that the value of value of property losses due to vehicle theft that occurred in 2020 was estimated at over seven billion US dollars. Again, this increased from 2019 which was approximately about six billion, four hundred million US dollars. In the European Union (EU), about five hundred and five thousand vehicles were reported stolen in 2019. It is essential to note that the above stats may fluctuate from year to year due to changes in crime rates, economic conditions, and other factors. Other States with vital crime statistics may be higher, lower or hover around the same figure with the United States of America and the EU. A thieving “industry” valued at above figures in a single year must elicit concern from those impacted by it. Hence, the need for information such as provided in this article. Vehicle Security should start the moment the desire and the resources to purchase it are available. This article is written for both vehicle owners and intended vehicle owners. It provides information on already available tools, ways and means of protecting vehicles against theft and how to consciously plan and secure vehicles against the threat. The excitement of having a vehicle must also extend to securing it. Otherwise, such excitement may suffer upset and become short-lived due to acts of crime from underworld criminals who promote pain and derive joy in the pain of others. Factors that mostly affect vehicle security include manufacturing technology, other advanced technology, law enforcement, and public awareness. Ensure there is baseline security in the environment where the vehicle is parked. 2. Lock vehicle doors, windows and trunk at all times whenever it is stationary. 3. Lock vehicle steering, and/or brake, accelerator, tire whenever it is on stationary. 4. Engrave vehicle identification number (VIN) or vehicle registration number on some parts of the body parts; example, side mirrors, windscreen, etc. 5. Retrieve vehicle particulars from it whenever it is parked in location with fluid security. 6. Get comprehensive insurance cover for the vehicle. 7. Install smart telematic tracker to track vehicle’s location. 8. Install smart remote starter to start and off the vehicle from a near distance. 9. Install smart vehicle alarm to call attention to it whenever it is threatened. 10. Install smart immobilizer to turn off the engine and stop the vehicle from further movement. 11. Install smart kill switch to stop vehicle keys from completing its function and preventing it from starting. 12. Keep vehicle keys in Faraday box or pouch to prevent them from sending signals each time. This is applicable only to keyless starter vehicles. It is crucial to have laws, regulations, and ethical standards in place in all organizations to guide behaviour and prevent harm to others. Actually, human beings cannot just be left free and unbounded by some dos and don’ts because this will lead to a lack of orderliness right from homes to schools to the community and then to the country at large, thereby causing chaos and violence from different people since there’s nothing to tackle against their wrongdoings. Infact, it is still difficult to curb some negative behaviors in people despite being clearly stated in the rules and regulations guiding the organization or such community, not to mention when there’s nothing to guide, then the whole world won’t be at ease with people’s misbehaviour therefore it is so important that every smallest organization that has people should have a constitution guiding them. I didn’t need a soothsayer to tell me Aminah had cried all night. Was it her swollen eyes that didn’t pass the message to me or her gloomy face? It was Aminah’s husband that called me at the odd hours of the night. He had travelled and wasn’t at home; he pleaded with me to try as much as possible to be at their place the following morning; someone called her barren again. He said bitterly. Aminah was a waiting mother for 11 years; she had been strong and carried on with her life, hoping Allah would answer her prayers on time.  Until some folks started calling her barren, Aminah was an online chef who shared recipes that she thought would be useful for her followers, but anytime any of the recipes didn’t sit well with them, they would go to her DM to call her all sorts of names. Some even went as far as telling her to divert all her energy into how she would have children, forgetting she was not Allah. That morning, I didn’t bother to ask her why she was crying; all I did was to pacify her. I made sure she ate and slept before going to my home. Virtual Reality is the next big thing in the world of technology…  I walked into the Biology class a bit late. That was on purpose, as I had not anticipated sitting in an overwhelming boredom for two hours. It was boring when a lecturer stood in front of the class explaining so obscurely that it took only a sharp brain and God’s grace to understand. Of course, the lecturer cannot be blamed as he tries to impact all he knows, but the method is not always quite effective. I had learned never to sit in front of the class when I was not planning to pay attention. The lecturer targets the front bencher, assumes they are the brightest in the class and continuously throws questions at them. I had learned that the hard way. Naturally, I was also not a back-bencher so the middle seat was perfect.  The class had started and I also started my daydream. My mind was roaming through random stuff until it hit the video I had watched on Virtual Reality the previous day. I had been surfing the internet looking for technological innovations when I came across Virtual Reality Technology. I was in awe! Can you imagine being able to go to Mars, run an Olympic 100 meters, etc., without even leaving your home? Those are things Virtual Reality could do. I know you are thinking impossible. I also thought that, but I then read further and knew it was no joke. Virtual Reality means blocking yourself off from the real world and substituting a computer-generated alternative, thereby simulating bits of completely imaginary worlds. It makes you feel like you are actually somewhere else. Impressive, right? I became even more interested when I discovered that it often involves wearing a wrap-around headset called a head-mounted display, clamping stereo headphones over your ears and touching or feeling your way around your imaginary home using data gloves (gloves with built-in sensors). Just then, an idea popped into my head. Imagine using Virtual Reality in the classroom, a way that I could actually relate to what is being taught.  Oh my God! Have I just discovered the solution to the end of eternal boredom? I can’t believe I spent the whole class thinking about Virtual Reality technology. I would say it was worth it, though, if only it could happen.

Most of us have forgotten that a shared burden loses its weight as it is dispersed among the collective shoulders of companions. Though the chords of solidarity and friendships now falter, the once soothing balm of camaraderie can sometimes turn into a bitter elixir of mockery and ridicule these days. The reason why keeping the façade feels a lot better  Words were once woven with the threads of connection, the same words are now used to undo the very fabric of our being, pulling the strings of our humanity to strain,  snapping under the weight of selfish desires and insatiable greed. Our wounds bleed upon the surface and within the depths of our souls, dripping with the bitter bile of solitude and despair. Being alone in the crowd is a familiar scene these days. I hope that even as we struggle beneath the core of our beings, whispers of a cure are waiting to be found. There is comfort In preserving our wounds within the confines of our hearts, safeguarding them until the elusive embrace of divine wisdom descends upon us, offering solace and healing to our shattered spirits. In our contemporary society, femininity is associated with qualities such as independence, outspokenness, compassion, and kindness, marking a significant departure from its past connotation of docility or meekness. This evolution challenges the very outdated notion that femininity is useless or has barely added any value to society. Despite societal expectations of femininity to mean conforming to specific societal behaviours, the real question remains: Who can dictate what should be accepted or rejected? However, prioritizing self-care is essential to exhibiting femininity, and you can start by imbibing the following lifestyle: Gracefulness With the simple ability to be polite and kind in your behaviour, especially in a difficult situation and within the realm of femininity, you should be able to discern when to express graciousness. Enhancing your writing skills as a writer significantly hinges on improving your vocabulary. This is because words serve as your sole means to convey emotions. The more extensive your word bank, the better your ability to effectively string together thoughts into a message that delivers the intended impact.  A broad vocabulary allows for clear and precise expression, adds depth to writing, diversifies language use, facilitates selecting the most suitable words, assists in expressing ideas concisely, and prevents confusion or complexity for the reader. One can only write using words one knows; hence, as a writer, it is expedient that you are intentional in building your vocabulary acumen. I have heard people lament in frustration about how they always have a lot to say, but conveying effortlessly always poses a problem. So, they end up not meeting the expectations of the readers in demonstrating mastery of terminology. Now, note that having an extensive vocabulary does not mean using complicated or uncommon words to appear more intelligent. Its essence is not in the complexity of words but in the ability to use the right words effectively and appropriately to convey ideas clearly and precisely.  What is Vocabulary? Vocabulary is a collection of acquainted words or phrases of a person’s language. It is the phrase acknowledged and used by an individual. In the English Language, it is not only integral for reading comprehension, but it is also a necessary tool for verbal and written communication.  Guidelines to develop and expand your vocabulary: Cultivate a Reading Culture: Incorporate reading into your daily life, no matter how short. As you read, take note of new words and write them down. Afterward, look them up in the dictionary. Learn new words in context. Learning new phrases contextually will make it less complicated to consider later. Don’t be satisfied understanding the meaning alone; however, practice the usage of them in sentences and your daily conversation. Learn new words daily: To expand your vocabulary and improve your communication ability, analyze a new word every day. Master the spelling, pronunciation, synonyms, and antonyms. Memorization plays its part. However, it doesn’t guarantee the terrific use of it. It is expedient to put each new vocabulary to use. To achieve recollection, make sure you use the word, or else, you will lose it. Practice them as you converse with people. You can begin by mastering a word daily, as you make progress, you can expand it. Play word games: In this century, technology has made knowledge less complicated, flexible, and fun. In a digitally advanced world, there are now several exclusive vocabulary-building exercises, games, applications, and quizzes designed to achieve admirable vocabulary capabilities. Adopt word games of your preference and be steady with them. Suggested examples are crossword, phrase scrambles, scrabble, and vocabulary pyramid among others. Learn from others: Another way to build your vocabulary is by practicing active listening. Listening to other people talk exposes you to new words and their usage. Use helpful English tools: Dictionaries and thesauruses remain effective examples of tools that help in understanding unfamiliar words. As a hoe is to a farmer, so is a dictionary to an English language learner. Conclusively, the power of consistency cannot be overemphasized. Consistent practice in building your vocabulary is the key to lasting success and growth. Do not cease after a while; stay focused and dedicated to the adopted activities.

This is a story of unrequited love between two people, Emeka and Adaobi. In the vibrant city of Lagos, where the streets thrummed with life and the air was thick with the scent of spices and ambition, lived a young man named Emeka. He possessed a quiet strength and a soulful gaze that spoke volumes without uttering a word, his presence commanding attention wherever he went. Emeka was a man who kept himself busy, studying engineering at the university, spending time with friends, and nurturing dreams of a future filled with possibilities. But amidst the chaos of his daily routine, one constant presence lingered in his thoughts like a haunting melody – Adaobi. She was a vision of beauty and grace, her laughter like music to his ears and her smile capable of lighting up even the darkest of nights. They had been friends since childhood, their bond forged through years of shared experiences and mutual understanding. But for Emeka, their friendship was a source of solace and torment. For five long years, Emeka had harboured feelings for Adaobi, feelings that he had kept hidden away, buried deep within his heart. He watched silently as she moved through life gracefully and confidently, her magnetic presence drawing admirers like moths to a flame. And every day, Emeka’s love for her grew stronger, an unspoken truth threatening to consume him whole. How could he explain the depth of his longing for her, the ache that gnawed at his heart each time she treated him like just another friend? How could he convey his resentment whenever she laughed at another man’s jokes, oblivious to the pain it caused him? And how could he articulate the jealousy that simmered beneath the surface whenever she turned her attention elsewhere, leaving him to wonder if he would ever be more than just a friend? But despite the turmoil within him, Emeka would have done anything for Adaobi, his love for her driving him to lengths he never thought possible. He showered her with kindness and affection, hoping against hope that she would one day see him for the man he truly was – the man who had loved her unconditionally, even when she couldn’t. But as much as he tried, Emeka struggled to find the words to express his feelings, his tongue tied by the fear of rejection. He longed to feel Adaobi’s lips on his, to bask in the warmth of her embrace, but he dared not act on his impulses, afraid of ruining the delicate balance of their friendship. But even now, as Emeka sat alone in his dimly lit apartment, the sounds of the city fading into the background, her image lingered in his mind like a haunting refrain. He cursed himself for falling so deeply for her, for allowing his heart to be held captive by someone who could never reciprocate his feelings. But amidst the pain and heartache, there was a glimmer of hope, a tiny spark of possibility that refused to be extinguished. Deep down, Emeka knew that love was a force more powerful than any other, capable of transcending even the greatest of obstacles. And so, with a renewed sense of determination, Emeka made a silent vow to himself – he would find the courage to confess his feelings to Adaobi, to lay his heart bare and risk it all for the chance at true love. For he knew that no matter the outcome, he would rather live with the pain of rejection than spend another day hiding his true feelings from the world.
