Click HereThe Ready Writers Internship Programme is an intensive 6-month capacity-building exercise that combines a rich but rigorous blend of training, mentoring, life coaching, peer learning, group work, apprenticeship, and volunteerism, all dispensed in a dynamic virtual environment.
The internship is segmented into two stages with the first part focused on exposing participants to learning experiences including classroom learning, cross-sectional engagements, and practical exercises. Those who successfully complete the first stage are upgraded to the second tier which is a two-phased fieldwork covering apprenticeship and volunteerism.
In the apprenticeship stage, participants are seconded to an organisation to put themselves to the test and apply the lessons they have learned during the training in a real-world work environment. At the same time, they are also enlisted as volunteers in a non-profit organization where they get volunteer experience while still applying what they have learned to deepen their understanding and become integrated into the flow of modern-day work environments. Both work placements are remote.
Who is it meant for?
The 15-week-long intensive drill is suitable for aspiring or established writers, editors, journalists, and creative professionals, who wish to hone their current skillset, diversify their writing, create a new niche, or add to their niche areas.

Phase 2: Candidates who complete the first stage are thereafter enlisted for a six-month apprenticeship in a corporate organization plus a volunteer role in a non-profit organization. Both placements are done concurrently.
Upon successful completion of these two stages, candidates are awarded a certificate of completion and inducted into The Ready Writers Academy where their works are showcased on a dedicated site and their services can be patronised by individual and corporate clients.
About the Golden Certificate
The Ready Writers Golden Certificate is a special certification awarded to candidates who have successfully fulfilled all the requirements of the two phases of the internship programme. Because the internship exercise is very intense and rigorous with a high turnover rate even from the early weeks of the training, candidates who have braved the odds and completed the process are regarded as champions who have passed the fire test typically used in determining a genuine gold; hence, their being awarded a golden certificate.
Recipients of this golden certificate enjoy a public endorsement from The Ready Writers and are accorded top priority for full-time employment or freelance engagements by the company, its partners and clients.
Benefits of the Programme
The Ready Writers Internship offers multiple tangible benefits to the participants, even from the early sessions. It is the only internship of its kind that avails participants a combination of advantages that aid their personal development, professional growth and social awareness. Some of the benefits that the participants enjoy are highlighted below:
- Certificate of Completion: Successful candidates are presented with a merit certificate at the end of the internship.
- Mentoring sessions: Participants have a regular mentoring session with Babatunde Oladele, the founder of The Ready Writers Consult, who is renowned for how he dramatically improves those who work with him.
- Exposure: Participants also get ongoing exposure to trainers, peers, alumni, members of the Academy as well as other opportunities to learn and earn that are specifically shared with members of the community.
- Stipend: Apart from building up work experience and resumes by working in a post-covid virtual work context, a monthly stipend is also paid to candidates in the apprenticeship stage of the programme.
- Volunteer experience: participants in the second phase of the internship are also afforded volunteer experience by being enlisted to work in a leading NGO. This will further enrich their resume and boost their chances of getting lucrative jobs. Moreover, the NGO also issues an endorsement certificate to volunteers who distinguish themselves at the end of the year, thus further building the credentials of successful candidates.
- Academy of Writers: At the end of the exercise, successful candidates are formally inducted into The Ready Writers Academy which afford them opportunities to be visible for independent patronage by members of the public who require their services, and they can earn more income on their own terms.
