NTA Looses Veteran Newscaster

The Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) lost one of its veteran newscasters, Aisha Bello Mustapha. The news of her passing broke out in the early hours of Monday, 11 December 2023.

The journalist passed away in Abuja following a brief illness. 

In the 1990s and 2000s, Aisha was a well-liked face on NTA network.

Zainab Sabo, a family friend, who verified the death said that she will be buried later in the day in accordance with Islamic customs.

“On Monday, 11 December 2023, the funeral prayer will be held at Abuja Central Mosque.” 

Zainab said, “Mama (Aisha) is indeed dead, and we are going to miss her, and we pray God bless her soul.”

However, the illness which led to her death is yet unknown. 

The late journalist spent 35 years working in the media profession until her retirement in May 2022.
